This is a free utility that is used for editing the registry to ensure the serial number descriptor of each FTDI device is ignored during driver installation. This feature ensures any FTDI device connected to a USB port is given the same COM port number.
If the name is correct on the primary server, check whether the serial number on the primary server is less than or equal to the serial number on the secondary server. If it is, modify either the primary server or the secondary server so that the serial number on the primary server is greater than the serial number on the secondary server.

In another article, we discussed that there are times that you might need your computer's serial number. In that article, we talked about using PowerShell to access said serial number. Being able to use a graphical interface, such as your computer, is helpful as you may not have immediate access to the little sticker typically affixed in some obscure place on your computer.
Using PowerShell is convenient for some; however, others prefer to still use Cmd or sometimes commonly referred to as the Command prompt. Cmd is the older method of entering commands into a terminal application that executes the text commands you enter and then allowing you to control your computer. If you are in the group that prefers Cmd over PowerShell, you can still use a command string to have your computer show you your serial number.
If you follow these steps and you receive a result of "To be filled by O.E.M.", or any other combination of characters or words, this means your Original Equipment Manufacturer did not save the serial number to the computer's BIOS or UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) firmware.
With this handy Cmd or Command prompt command line, you can now access your computer's serial number when you need it, without needing to physically rearrange your computer or move everything at your desk.
P.S. got to this discussion from website where I was checking serial number on Macbook Pro on eBay. Folks at the website sell a little USB device with LED display that they say reveals the firmware password on boot. Device costs a LOT.
My Macbook Pro is locked by a theif using the findmyiphone in my stolen IPHONE 6, I already showed to apple my receipt and my box but they cant allow my mac to be reformatted because the serial number is not indicated in the receipt(not my problem anymore because the store forgot to include it ). Already Contacted apple security but they are very strict. The apple ID in the mac is registered under my name matches my ID but they never considered. I hate how they misjudge and dont help their loyal customer. I will not buy apple device again if they cant help the true owner of the device. I already brought it to the apple service center and paid a hundred dollar just to reformat it (not under warranty anymore) but it was not refundable and still my mac is locked because apple does not honor my receipt. Please teach me how to reformat it my self (contact me using my email). Thank you
Go to virtual machine configuration > Hardware > Boot Order > Advanced settings > in Boot flags field paste the flag below alongside with a new serial number next:

With the October 2018 update, versions of Creative Cloud and Document Cloud are only available if deployed via named user licensing. On November 30, 2019, many customers will also be affected by expiring serial numbers. There is a way to change the installed Serial Number (SN) without changing files or hacking registry keys. The catch is that you must be able to run the program.
