After doing as much research as possible, I've come to the conclusion that it's the GMA 3150 graphics driver. There is a bunch of talk on it all over the interwebs but nothing lately. I've tried the fixes that some people have used but most when I try to get the package it's no longer there or available if that makes sense. I'm loving everything Ubuntu has to offer but it'll really bite if I can't use it any more because of this problem. Does anybody have any ideas? You'd really be helping a lot.

When released the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 - also found in Intel Atom N4xx, N5xx (Pineview) processors (ex.: in notebook like various Dell Mini or Inspiron Duo 10.1 hybrid Tablet) was described to be able to support OpenGL 2.0; in fact the graphic core is based on the GMA X3100 that is capable of OpenGL 2.0.But Intel after releasing few drivers updates announced that it will stop support and released drivers only up to OpenGL 1.5 on windows and OpenGL 1.4 on Linux.

I'm 90% sure they didn't make 3150 drivers for 98, and Xp drivers won't work under win98. If the motherboard has a PCI or PCI-E slot, you can install a video card with win98 drivers on it. Some boards come with no expansion slots whatsoever, but most have a single PCI slot or at least PCI-E 1x or 4x - you can use a 16x card in a 1x slot if you mod the slot. A PCI-E Geforce 6200, 6600 or similar will work and they have win98 drivers.
AFAIK the last intel-win3x driver was released for the i815e chipset-gfx. It already has the issue, that fullscreen dos and back to the windows-desktop leads to a sys-freeze.But you can use nearly all resolutions and bitdepths and performance is great too.
For later intel-gfx or any other video-card the patched vesa-drivers form wfw311 should work.they have the same issue with the fullscreen-dos and back to windows-desktop issue andthey supporet only 256 colors.

Finally the official driver and support for GMA 3150 is here The release will mark the beginning of Sherry Project support for the GMA3150, as you all know, this is the first time that the project is developing for chipsets other than the 945 and 965 family.
Can anyone help me on that? Is it sooooo hard to modify existing drivers to work with older windows versions? I cant let it run Win7 because of a huge lag, it takes 10mins to load the system and another 10mins to load the browser... That's not right they didnt make the support for Xp, or at least the Vista. This Asus has RAM soldered in so no upgrade, and I got only 1024MB so please... anyone help:) Thank You.
So it's just like I thought. It is generic only. No 2D, 3D, DirectX, no video acceleration either:( Cam you tell me how could I mod the driver to operate under WindowsXp? There are hunderds of commands designed for Se7en that are not supported by Xp, Vista and all the systems lower than 7. Even if I force it to use the driver it will bring out hundreds of errors of unhandled exceptions or missing entry points in kernel32.dll and so on.... I hit this forum in hope You ppl know more about this kind of modding than me... Can we do something about it? I'm slowly thinking of extremely modded (the lightest and fastest) Se7en edition, by so far I can't run RT 7 under windows Xp, are there alternatives for it? Thanks 2ff7e9595c
